As an ancient exclusive lord, Elddr is remarkably mid as both an AoE damage dealer and lord. He may have good survivability via high health and semi-frequent shielding but all of his damage potential is limited by requiring shields so unless protected well the damage just isn't there. Although he provides some damage increase for the other northerners, it is unreliable because it is again centered around units maintaining a shield.
